Unique among all books ever written, the Bible accurately foretells specific events--in detail--many years, sometimes centuries, before they occur. Approximately 2500 prophecies appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2000 of which already have been fulfilled to the letter--no errors. (The remaining 500 or so reach into the future and may be seen unfolding as days go by.) Since the probability for any one of these prophecies having been fulfilled by chance averages less than one in ten (figured very conservatively) and since the prophecies are for the most part independent of one another, the odds for all these prophecies having been fulfilled by chance without error is less than one in 10^2000 (that is 1 with 2000 zeros written after it)!

More than 300 Prophecies of Jesus' Life Predicted in the Old Testament and then Fulfilled in the New Testament

Messianic prophecy is the collection of over 300 predictions in the Old Testament about the future Messiah of the Jewish people. These predictions were written by multiple authors, in numerous books, over approximately 1,000 years. Messianic Prophecy is so dramatic today, because with the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the reliability of the Septuagint version of the Old Testament (both of which have been proven to exist prior to the time Jesus walked on the earth) you can be assured that these prophecies were not conspired after-the-fact.

Are the Prophecies too Vague?

Lets Take a look at the prophecy of the Jews.

The Bible predicted...

*The Eastern Gate in Jerusalem will remain closed untill Christ walks through it...Despite several attempts, over 1000 years, no one has walked through nor open the Gate

ARCHAEOLOGICAL PROOF OF THE BIBLE

"I tell you, if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out." Luke 19:40.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL FINDS DO not in themselves prove that the Bible is the word of God; nor do they prove the truth of statements about the future. However, archaeological finds have in many instances provided vital proof that statements, places, people or events which have been dismissed previously as mythical were indeed factual.

Despite attempts to discredit historical and geographical statements in the Bible, no evidence whatsoever has come to light which shows the Biblical record to be erroneous. It is true that some archaeological interpretations may be disputed, but this does not cast doubts upon the accuracy of the scriptural account; it only shows the fallibility of men.

In this branch of science lies a challenge to the Bible, for every time the archaeologists spade finds a potsherd, a statue, a brick, a seal or a scroll, it could prove a biblical statement to be inaccurate. But it is a challenge that has been more than met, for, far from proving the inaccuracy of the Bible, archaeology is constantly proving its truth (http://www.biblelight.org/arch10.htm).

As a result, with all the fulfilled prophecies and archaeological proof a person who rejects the Bible would require more faith than a person that believes it.

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen, the weak things of the word to put to shame the things which are mighty. And base things of the world and the things which are depressed God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in his presence."
